I took these photos in Annapolis Junction, Maryland ... Summer 2020

These pictures were taken in June 2017 when the 765 did a fan trip to  Chicago's LaSalle Street Station from  Joliet Illinois.

Took this awhile back while it was at the shop at Inman.

Mid week will be here in a couple of days but I'll be busy working the election tomorrow and catching up on my honey do list, so here's a couple of photos to start off the first midweek in November.

August 23rd, 2018 at the Oklahoma Railroad museum,  Topeka built Santa Fe CF-7 #2571.

Thanksgiving , 2014?,  New Orleans,  St Charles Street trolley #906. We had no plans for the day so 6 of us got on outside our hotel and rode it from end to end and back to our stop.

I always need to look up if these are -8 or -9s? This is a -9. I don't know what would be easy to spot the difference? (I looked this # up)

I usually count the number of steps to see the approx age or build of it. This is 5. The one behind has 6!

I also wonder just how many miles an engine like this now has on it. It has to be amazing?

Thank you for taking the reins, Paul!  Wednesdays have become a blur for me the past several months, and each one for some different reason.  This was a great thread.  Thank you to everyone for participating.

Honestly... I don't pay much attention to what model they are, but I believe you're onto something with the step counting.

All I know is the following

SD70s = Nice, big cabs and typically very clean

Dash 9s = Trashed cabs with horrible seats, but has a spot on back near the engine perfect for heating food

AC44C6Ms = Nice cabs, terrible radios, but has a spot to heat food like a dash 9

I think I speak for most railroaders (except some engineers) when I say we don't particularly care about what kind of engine we get. As long as the cab is in decent shape and the toilet doesn't smell too bad we're in good shape.
