Another Wednesday has arrived! Get out your best shots of Real World Rail Action (or inaction as the case might be...)
Midweek Photos begins with this still operating 1952-built GP7. Okay, it's a GP8, being rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen for Conrail in 1978. But her heritage is of the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. Photos taken on Monday, Oct 7.
Here is the current DLWR (Depew Lancaster & Western RR) 5460 in blue, along with soulmate RS11 no 1804. It was raining when I took these photos. The location is Scranton, PA and the Delaware-Lackawanna RR was switching out cars in the Steamtown yard.
Alco C636 no. 3642, D-Ls biggest power was doing the switching near Bridge 60 tower.
Get 'em, boys! The conductor on the ground to couple up the cut of cars with the locomotive.
Close-up of the Geep. She was built at EMD's Cleveland OH shop, delivered as DL&W 959.
Now I hand the thread over to you. Enjoy the rest of the week, and we all look forward to seeing your shots of the railroad world.
