Happy Halloween!  I am beginning this thread with a "haunted house" look at an old DL&W trackside shanty that was rescued from the old DL&W yard in Taylor, PA.  Here she is in January, 2011 when she was brought into rest at the edge of the Steamtown National Historic Site.  Delaware-Lackawanna RR has taken stewardship of the structure.

Fast forward to last week, and the building is finished in its restoration. New doors, paint, smokestack and track... Even a track speeder is resting inside.  It is good to see it returned to it's initial purpose.

I also caught Steamtown's Scranton Limited running on the East end of the yard October 18.  Most of these leaves have been knocked off the trees by "Superstorm Sandy" I hope everyone caught in her wake has survived well enough.

Do you have any photos of Halloween trains?  Possibly "pumpkin" trains?  Any pictures of the real world of railroading is welcome here.  Spread the word to your friends, and have a great November.

On my lunch hour today I drove too the Mt Clements GTW depot to see if there was any action there.  To my surprise there was 2 trains!  Both with small trains servicing local industries.

This CN GP38-2 peaks around the old depot.

This old girl still in GTW paint pushes a few hoppers into a cement plant.
