Welcome to 2013, ladies and gentlemen...
I certainly hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's celebration. I look forward to another 52 weeks of your railroad contributions of the REAL world of Railroading. Freight, Passenger, Work, Right of Way, Preservation and all the other points of how our lives interact with the railroad world are welcome on this thread.
SNOW was the four letter word on our minds the past week. I captured the December 29 storm as it fell on some displays at Steamtown in Scranton. Above is a DL&W USRA design hopper at the turntable display area. Below is 1903-built Illinois Central 790.
While my truck is in the shop, I walked to work for a few days, and was able to capture this reflective image of the former DL&W Pattern Shop from the locomotive shop complex.
Please add some of your photos to the thread. All are welcome. If any of you are in a warmer climate or taking a winter vacation, some of us up North would like a sunny view on railroading. Enjoy your week!
