Sunday, 3/18/18, was a great early spring day, so I went in search of rail activity around Hagerstown MD.

At 9:45am, I caught an eastbound NS freight at Marion,PA. MP 58 from Harrisburg on the former PRR/Cumberland Valley RR trackage.
Next, I went down to Williamsport, MD. to catch the northbound Winchester & Western turn headed to NS's Vardo Yard in Hagerstown. The 2 GP38-2s and 1 GP38 had a long train of covered hoppers, boxcars, and Tankers.
I then went over to St. James, MD. MP5 south of Hagerstown on the former N&W Shenandoah Line.
Just before 12 noon, northbound 202 passed at speed, concluding 2 hours with 3 different trains on 2 different RRs.

Excellent job, everyone!  Thank you for starting the thread on Wednesday. I have not had the opportunity to go trackside when trains were running the past couple of weeks, but caught this goofy shot of the aftermath of a snowfall last week.  The tracks embedded in the bricks acts as a walkway to direct Steamtown visitors to the parking lot.  The snow on Mar 21 was accumulating early in the morning, so a path had to be shoveled.  The warmness of the afternoon led to a quick melt except for piles shoveled away.

I hope to post something good this coming week.  Time will tell.

That looks like pictures of the old electrified DT&I, that Henry Ford Sr. had built many, moons ago...!...I'd seen pictures of everything gone, but the Catenary Structures, that held the electric cabling ...!

Yes, that is the old DT&I. The concrete structures are **** near bombproof and were deemed too expensive to tear down, so many still standing, mostly between Diann and Oakwood Junctions. They pose no clearance problems, either.
