I received some great news in my inbox this morning so I figured I would get the ball rolling on the midweek photo thread.
Our bolsters are in! For those of you who have been following the restoration of Scranton Transit trolley #505, I am ecstatic to report that the crew at AES has completed fabrication on the new mounts and our replacement bolsters have been bolted into the body shell.
Newly fabricated bolster mounts replace the cast originals:
And the new bolster assemblies join up with the body:
Stay tuned for more news over the next couple months, as the platforms continue to take shape! We anticipate having the completed shell back in the ECTM shop by mid-summer, where we can get to work on the electrical and plumb the air lines. Woodwork to follow in the Spring of 2018.
