Yes, it's another week gone by, and another weekend on the way. Time to get ready for some train chasing, and to share what we might have captured. It's time for another edition of Midweek Photos!
Some action around the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, PA this past Monday. F3 no. 664 was out early in the day to help a brother out.
One of the neat parts of Steamtown is the number of elevated areas where you can see the yard operations. 664 is on the way to the locomotive shop on the far side of the museum complex.
Entering stall 7, she is about to pull out Baldwin Locomotive Works 0-6-0 no. 26.
Baldwin 26 had a rough day this past Friday. Bearing trouble on the rods led to her being taken out of service over the weekend. The rod brasses that went bad were replaced in a short amount of time.
Don't mind the dirty face. Steam engines are supposed to look like this.
Now to get some coal and get a fire going. She is back in service, and ran for a few hours on Tuesday, conducting some switching along the way.
That is my contribution for this week. I know that a lot of steam activity has picked up this month. If any real world railroading has caught your eye, we would love to see it. See you around.
