Hola!  I'm a bit late in getting the Midweek Photos started for the week, but I hope you will enjoy seeing what I captured, and I hope you can share a photo or two.

I happened to look in the Steamtown yard this afternoon and found that in the Grain Train, there were 3 Penn Central hopper cars.  I can't remember the last time I saw this many of that old name in one single freight train.  Possibly the early 1990s.  The top one has the Conrail markings clear as day, as it was painted over the PC green.

This second one has Conrail markings blocked out, but the PC emblems are clear.

This third one looks like it was never touched by a Conrail painter.  The lettering almost looks like stickers on this one.  All of the cars are from 1974, near as I can tell.

Then there is this one.  Conrail letters and insignia blotted out in gray, and I see no other color but the CR brown (or maybe rust) underneath.  The consolidated stenciling doesn't help in determining much beyond its build date: also 1974.  For a railroad that disappeared 42 years ago, this is pretty neat for me.  Perhaps there are still some Erie Lackawanna cars out there still earning their keep.

Have a good week.  I hope your rail encounters are worth talking about here.
