It's another Wednesday!  Time to roll out another edition of Midweek Photos!  This past weekend saw a break-in run of streetcar 120.  Originally Delaware Electric Power, it is believed to have been built in 1904. The car was restored in Buckingham, PA, and delivered to Scranton, PA's Electric City Trolley Station & Museum.  I wasn't even aware of work going on in getting this car repaired to run… or even that this short piece of track leading to the trolley museum works!

This car rides on 4 wheels, much like a TYCO HO trolley.  The run of track is only about a few hundred yards.  It is disconnected from the main trolley route in Scranton.

This operation reminded me of this blast from the past on how electricity works: http://youtu.be/CLuPNThw0RE

Since last week, we entered the next season, Fall.  In my neck of the woods, the leaves are already changing color, and framing Big Boy 4012 at Steamtown very nicely.

The thread is now in your hands.  Any interesting part of railroading you have encountered is of interest.  Main lines, Short lines, amusement park lines.  All is good, as long as it's "real!"  Have a  great week!

We're firing up the old time machine again to 1977.  This time on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad.

We road the train from Cumbres to Antonito.  These are from before train time.

I was in the "back yard" so to speak and found the 484 puttering around.

Imagine the surprise of a certain young foamer when the hostler said he needed someone to watch the left side and would I mind doing the job.

So, not wanting to disappoint him, I watched as he backed the 484 into the engine shed.

With the 484 safely tucked away, the 487 (which would be the helper engine on this trip) moved up.

Also, apparently into each steam life a little internal combustion must fall...

The 487 moved on to breakfast at the coaling tower.

Then bellied up to the water tower for a drink.

The 487 coupled on to the train.  A patron chats with the engineer.

It's about departure time, so it's time to board a boxcar and move out.

Some various shots of trains in Berea and Olmsted Falls, Ohio while waiting 12 hours for AAPRCO train (took 11 1/2 hours to move from Chicago to Berea and was dark by then).

A 100 car heavy oil train pulled by 5 locomotives heading East.

UP grain train GLSLII is nearing its destination as it eases along the Lesperance Street Industrial Lead in south St. Louis, MO. It is rolling beneath the bluffs of the Mississippi River which is just off to the left.

The crew will yard the 100 hoppers at the large Italiagrani elevator in S. St. Louis located on UP's Desoto Sub.

CP power is common on these grain trains.
