Mike shows of the long awaited Fastrack Extended Truss Bridge. Looks pretty cool! I was just thinking it's been a while since we've seen a product video.

Thanks for sharing, I do like seeing Mike demonstrate Lionel items.
Great Video by MIKE.
Amazing! So much design and engineering! Very cool!
The video said will be at your local dealer in a week or so. It took it a while to finally get here!
Mike's videos are great. Nice product design.
cool engineering. I may not buy one but great to see some thinking going into our hobby.
Marty thanks for posting the video
Mike ingenious engineering, with you involved i wouldn't expect anything less

I really hope we start to see more of these videos again. It seems since the move to NC they have been far less frequent. I understand Mike has a lot more on his plate now too though. They truly are an asset to Lionel to have them.
You can even see the band-aid from when he was looting Walmart the other night!
Jon
They are here! Fantastic - anyone know what the price is?
Ro has it for $234.95 Fastrack Extended Truss Bridge
I guess we now know why Mike is too busy to help with service/warranty issues.
Surely there must be some compatability feature with that bridge that he overlooked
A lot of thought went into the design of that bridge!

Too soon, maybe?

I like the way their made to lift out of the way so that you can pass through.
I wanted one specifically for its lift out capabilities but when it was delayed twice I built my own. It sure is sweet. I can always swap it with the one I built. The only difference from the initial rendering and the one they had at York is the color of the piers. They were dark gray stone at first now they are a sandstone color. Either way it's a nice, well thought out piece.

Great video Mike.
Brilliant engineering. Really impressive to watch.

I like two things: the bridge and watching Mike wrestling the product out of the packaging. Good to know it's not just me. Let's watch him put it back in the next video.
What, me worry?
I noticed that as well but decided to give him a pass on it. Certainly ensures the product is protected from the shipping folks.

I often said that the manufacturers should include "packing instructions" in every unit they sell or at minimal make them available on line. Trying to get an item back in it's box for a repair or what have you without them is nearly impossible. I always have a piece of foam or something left over. You know they have a sheet for the folks over seas to follow.
It is a well thought out bridge. I really like it. I have one question....Mike did explain and display that bridge rail makes contact with the approach rail by slightly overlapping it. Does that cause the rail to pick up electric power without wires if you wish to use it as a lift out?
Luvtrains,
yes, it does, in conjunction with the rolled tabs that the rails press down on when the bridge is replaced on the rails.
kooljock,
I was really hoping you didn't notice the bandaid, no Walmart looting, I thought the bandaid was more user friendly than the gash my grinder gave me! (A hard lesson regarding removing safety shields!) lol
glad to hear everyone enjoyed the video. Hope to make some more in the future, time permitting!
Thank you,
Mike
Very good video. The detail of the design is outstanding.
I don't see it on the shipping schedule but Ro has it Oct. 10.
I'll be looking to pick one up at York! If the dealers have 'em, I hope they bring 'em!

Thanks for the reply Mike. Therefore I assume that DCS signal will be be picked up through the contact also...?
Mike, why the change in color on the piers. The gray looked so much more real.
I got two bridges from Nassau Hobby. I am really happy with Nassau Hobby. Unfortunately, I had to cancel some of my pre orders last year do to some financial issues. I asked if they would allow me to apply the down payment from my cancelled orders to my 2 bridge preorders if my financial situation changed by the time they came in. They said that would be fine. They contacted me this week saying that the bridges were in. Since I got a new job in April, I was able to complete the purchase. These bridges are very impressive. Can't wait to put them into use. After this transaction, I am no longer afraid to preorder with a down payment. Thanks again to the folks at Nassau Hobby.
Great Customer Service by the Nassau Hobby Team!!!! Way to go to help a customer out. Kudos
I have two on order from Legacy Station, They look good, I am a bit disappointed because I was going to use MTH catenary system but with the front and back section installed it does not look good. I may have to modify it for the cat system.
Great Engineering Mike!
They actually match my Lionel swing bridge. Now I have to build a larger layout to accommodate
I am using it on a flat surface mostly for it's scenic value and at the edge of the layout so nothing can fall off onto the floor. I have had difficulty matching it up to the Fastrack without the piers. I am using FT to Tubular adapters and lightly crimp the bridge rail ends to the pins on the adapter. It can be undone if I ever use the piers but I kind of wish there were a "on a flat surface" mating to Fastrack piece.
