Last notice or reminder for this weekend’s show:

The Milwaukee Lionel Railroad Club will host the first of its twice-annual open houses from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

It’s quite the sight, even for experienced hobbyists, with up to 20 different trains running at once on distinctly different sections.

The clubhouse is located in a business condo center, the Parkland Plaza, 2721 S. Calhoun Road, New Berlin.  (The entrance is around the back side of the center.)

Admission is $2, but free for veterans, scouts in uniform, and children age 12 and younger (accompanied by an adult).

For club info, go to our website at www.milw-lrrc.com.

Here’s a thematically appropriate Hiawatha train which echoes the club logo and a B&O switcher hard at work. You can enjoy sights like this and more.

Yes, they are all a great bunch of fellas, remember visiting the layout before this one, and then after this layout was completed... almost, we all know they are never finished.  Friends in Antioch area and myself started the North Central O Gaugers in Lake County, Illinois and some members were also in the Milwaukee Club and the Chicago Land Railroad Club.  It was always memorable when we set up in a local shopping mall, school or community center and have Milwaukee Club also there running trains.  Yes, they were always a great bunch with their modular layout as well the superb permanent layout.  Do have fond memories of the fun, and work, of moving and then setting up for the enjoyment of watching the little kids and parents with smiles on faces as well as big eyes and sense of wonder.  Great friends, fond memories and always a part of my life.
