Wish I were closer! Thanks for the heads up!
Great news. It has been a long time coming especially with all the group had to go through.

I have my tickets purchased
That is one beautiful photo! It appears that it could give the "Bullet" trains a run for the money.
I wish I could make the trip. Too far away. I looked at the time frame and taking some days off of work to go but just isn't feasible. I will ride behind her in the next few years for sure though.
This is great for the steam railroading world. I am really glad the 261 is back. Only wish she could be closer to PA sometime so I could see her.
I had heard back in the 90s she was in Steamtown up in Scranton, PA but I doubt that will happen again.
Only 4 years for the rebuild. Pretty amazing when you figure all the BS that was going with the engine before the Friends were able to purchase her. Great job guys
Before you burn your vacation time booking these trips in May, don't forget that 765 will be running trips around Horseshoe Curve on Memorial Day Weekend.
We should be able to announce that officially in a week or so, with on-line ticketing up and running. Just waiting for the NS press release.
Don't worry Rich, I'll be there too
Should be another great year for the 765. I'm looking forward to it.

Rich, being retired am sure I can squeeze both the 765 and 261 in my retired schedule!

I'll be chasing, not riding. More fun and economical. I feel slightly guilty not supporting the operation, but I had a great ride back in 2006.

I'm waiting for the 765/Big Boy LASH-UP excursion on The Curve!

ROTFL! You are going to have a long wait. We have to buy a LOT more rope before we can lash up to that Big Boy!
Paul...May 11-12...and very close to home.
I have to ask will 261 or 765 come as south as Missouri this year
765 will be in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, New York and Pennsylvania this year.
Thkey just announced they have secured another super dome from the Iowa RR for first class tickets, so first come 1st served.
I'm glad Tim Botti put in the link to donate to 261. There are several worthwhile projects that could use a few of your dollars. It won't hurt to help out the group that is providing you something to chase.
I don't know what you were looking at because it's there, about half way down. Click on purchase tickets and it shows the Santa Fe full dome. From there site...
"Due to demand for Premium Class seating, we have added more dome seating. These seats will be Premium Class in a full-length, former Santa Fe Railway dome car for our excursion to Duluth. Built in the 1950s by the Budd Company, this historic, stainless steel car once operated on such Santa Fe streamliners as the Chief, San Francisco Chief, and Texas Chief. They offer a unique “engineer’s eye view” of 261 and the passing scenery. Be sure to purchase your Full Dome tickets today!"
What a magnificent loco 261 is! In the mid nineties I was privileged to see her in Chenango Bridge, NY, where her train combined with a Susquehanna excursion train, then to pace them on to Chenango Forks. Number 261 in the lead, Susquehanna's Mikado clanking behind, and the big E-unit bringing up the rear behind the coaches.
CWEX.... it showed up on my browser now but at the time i posted it wasn't anywhere on my page might have been a tech thing on my end!
we already had to go the first class ticket tried calling them just now no one answering the phone so used there email as we sure would like to have a dome car seat. my wife and I are so looking forward to this trip.

Hi $oo...boy I have had that happen a time or two myself. I would love to be able to get up there but I have to work...the dome would be great and I hope you are able to secure the seats. In any case have a great trip and post some pics please....
Hi back at ya CWEX.... I can't relate to that work thing you mentioned as we both retired last June so as they say play time for us!
I will do my best at photo's I have a 2011 canonT-3 and as long as I use the auto feature we sort of do ok.
