Good evening all. I wanted to see if anyone has info or can help me out with this one.

I am trying to track down what the minimum radius an Overland Little Joe will take or if you have a Joe, what radius does it run on with your own layout? Even a Weaver variant of the Joe would be helpful.

There are a couple of areas of my layout still in the design phase and I want to make dang sure I do this with the correct radius.

Thank you!

James

In lieu of your lack of responses, my 5 cents worth:

I can't tell you the exact minimum radius an OMI Joe can handle, but it is a pretty long "boat". I don't know if it has changed, but the de facto "magic number" that just about everything "O" could navigate was 72".

Probably not what you wanted to hear but even if they can navigate small radii, a lot of large engines look really STUPID (can you say overhang) doing it.

Good Luck

Actually, I appreciate the response. I had always heard it was right around there but never knew exactly. This will help me tremedously as the sharpest curve I have currently on the layout is an 80”.

And yes, these locomotives are quite large indeed. Once they have been P48ed, the ultimate test shall begin.

Thanks again!
