I am fairly certain that the Misty Mountain was torn down after the owner died and the estate was sold several years ago. There will be someone on the forum with better information. NH Joe
We saw it years ago but the owner passed away some years ago. Not sure if the family still has it open Check online.
The family made an effort to keep the layout open after Charles passed away but, ran into a number of issues. The result was the layout being permanently closed.

I may be wrong but I think Cabin Fever Auctions sold their inventory. You could contact them and ask them. I may have bought some of their stuff
Thanks everyone! Sounds like I missed it!
It was neat layout and is one of the OGR videos. Back 2004, I had 2 young boys who watched the OGR video in the Van when we travelled to Smokie mountains. I did a surprise side trip to Blairsville and toured the layout. They were surprised to see the real thing and meet Charles who created the layout.

Lionel Collectors Club's annual convention was held in Chattanooga some years ago and Misty Mountain was an optional trip. We got a personal tour by Mr. Griffin and it was great.
Griffin family had no interest it although Mr. Griffin's daughter-in-law tried to keep it going, but eventually closed. I was told by some locals that the building deteriorated due to roof leaks and eventually was torn down. I was very luckty to have seen it.
Mr. Griffin's son got into drugs and this layout was built by them to 1) give the son something productive to do 2) aimed at his grand children.
He made a comment that the folks at Ebenezer Baptist Church (Martin Luther King) sure must have a lot of money because on a tour, they offered hin a LOT of money for the model of their church that his son built. He did not sell it as his son had passed.

Certainly a tragedy and misfortune! A legacy of spectacular proportions!
