Mixing MTH and Lionel

I'm new to O scale, and have a couple of newbie questions.

1) Can MTH rolling stock be used on FasTrack? Specifically, are the couplers compatible. and will the MTH cars work with the FasTrack uncouplers?

2) Do Legacy locomotives have the option to choose from multiple horns and/or prime movers like DCC locomotives?
