Other than the famous and enormous layout in Hamburg are there any other model railroad clubs/sites worth visiting in Germany. I'll be going there next December and will be mostly in the Eastern/ Saxony part of the country. I have a few days in both Berlin and Dresden. Thanks

If you are going anywhere near Jena, then it would be worthwhile contacting the Model Railway Club Jena 49 e.V. ( www.mek-jena49.de ). They have some great layouts, including a beautiful Om layout that I saw at EuroSpoor last year.
In Dresden there is a Pre War Maerklin "0" Gauge layout in the Museum of Transportation about 40 ft long and 12 ft wide plus a traction layout,well worth the visit to the Museum.These trains are very rare and survived the night raid of 2/12/45.Take time to see the Museum,there are trains and trollies on the first floor.
