Modeling New Train Shed | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I am considering modeling a newly constructed late 1800s wood single stall engine shed. My idea is to put it next to one of similar or identical design that is past its useful life and scheduled to be demolished or in process. I'm looking for descriptions or photos or even ideas from anyone was done something similar. Since I believe they did not have the large earthmoving and excavation equipment that they have today, I am curious what the post construction site should look like especially surrounding terrain, landscaping etc. Also any un-weathering techniques to get that freshly built look.

I have already thought of having a painter applying the white wash/ paint to the last few pieces of raw lumber.
