Modeling the HYDRO ONE HEPX 200 20-Axle Schnabel.
An O scale model of this Schnabel car has been constructed. The model has a 30 inch coupled length (without load attached.) It has a 11 foot reduced pivot point similar to the prototype. The truck bolsters are articulated to allow better tracking since each set of trucks will pivot independently. With a typical scale load of 40 feet attached the overall car length is 40 inches.

This Schnabel car was built for Ontario Hydro by National Steel Car Limited of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, in 1973. Ontario Hydro became Hydro One in 2001. This car was placed in service in April of 1976. It is still in service.
