I would like to see diesels from Sunset/ 3rd rail to be more modern from the late 80's on. dash8's, 9's AC6000's etc. Detail is my thing and i would love to see diesels made by Sunset/3rd rail.

Here's one I'd like to see them do: a Canadian Wide Cab SD60M
A perfect prototype for the kind of short-run, high detail locomotives 3rd Rail is famous for! These would look good in the CN North America scheme and in... ZEBRAS!
They're SO ugly and SO awesome!!
DO IT !! MAKE THEM!!!

I would rather see something new too. Atlas and MTH have covered the Dash-8, Dash-9, AC 6000s, Evos and SD70s pretty well.
I'd like to see something really different. Something never before available in 3 rail scale.
How about a fixed pilot SD40-2? I thinks those of us who model the BN would be in for about 900!
Now that Sunset/GGDs first plastic diesel has been well recieved and Scotts willingness to work with knowledgeable people on details and improvements, I think that future production is wide open ,driven by demand [reservations].
Er, no such a thing as a wide nose. If the cabs were wider, they would fowl other tracks, et. al. The is a thing as a "wide nose", which began when the Candian roads began to order the "safety cab".
CN did order the safety cab/wide nose with the "tpaer drape" carbodies of the SD50F and AD60F units. Yes, they are caboose (van?) UGLY!
What do you mean, "there is no such thing as a wide nose"? Where have you been all these years? I'll agree that the "wide cab" description is incorrect, but compare any GP60 on BNSF to a GP60M (former Santa Fe units) and you will definately see that the nose is indeed "wider" on the GP60M model. Same applies to SD70MAC units, which DEFINATELY have "wide noses"!
The only person to mention the term "wide nose" was you, so I'm not sure what you're talking about exactly.
The terms "wide cab", "comfort cab", "safety cab" and yes even "wide nose" are completely interchangeable and... "widely" accepted & understood.
Now then, back on topic, what other cool diesels should Scott & Co. make for us?
I'd like to see 3rd Rail make things that haven't been covered by the other O gauge importers. Some of the early Baldwin and Alco diesels come to mind.
If they did an Alco H660 switcher, I'll take mine in Boston and Maine/Maine Central/Portland Terminal black with the red nose stripes, please.
I wonder if Scott has seen and/or read this thread?

That's not a SD60M, that's a GE Dash 8-40CM.

I'd like to see someone make a nice CF7. It's not modern, but it's significant. Unfortunately, it's a Santa Fe exclusive, but there are tons of them still in branch line service.
I'd like to see the SD70M, 70MAC and 75M for sure- these are so popular with all the Class I roads. Put me in for about 4 if these get made. You could also add the SD60M as well....
I'd like to see them do the EMD FT cab unit first, but when it comes to modern, I guess a SD-40F?

I would like to see the ALCo C636... Not done in 3 rail and tough to find in O scale...if any! Bonus the model was painted in roadnames across the country and not just to one geographic region!
Good idea! The Alco C636 would be a good project for a low volume importer like 3rd Rail-Sunset.

Too late at night. There are no wide CABS, not NOSES. My error.
