Just received a mail from Harry Hieke and some pictures on  Golden Gate depot coaling tower he modified.  see below description and pictures: Harry Listed his improvements so you may try this yourself or contact Harry to modify your tower.

What have here guys is a lightly modified and improved GGD, FM Coaling tower. Scott started importing these about 10 years ago and has had numerous successful runs. I like to refer to the tower pictured as my Mod-7 meaning there were six levels of improvements through the years. I will have this one for sale at York. OK so what did I do to modify this stock tower. Here you go:

Mod 1, I added cast resin pillow feet. Try photo 5094 and 5090
Mod -, I added cast resin hopper dump shed. Replaced stairs with Tichy styrene modules. 5087 shows this
Mod 3, I replace factory lights with scale goose necks 5084 shows this
Mod 4, I added 1,000 simulated nail holes and 200 Tichy, nut bolt washer castings look Try 5091
Mod 5, I added tower support to stairway landing, and 2 Tichy stairways to ground. Added broken windows. Try 5094
Mod 6, I deed pulleys, chain detail, sander assembly (Berkshire Valley). Repaint entire structure, rustoleum stain each board (Hunter Line) Try 5092, 5090
Mod 7- I added additional support cribbing to hopper bottom, corrugate roof sections, airbrush weather (tru color paint)5092

If anyone would like further info on my techniques, you tube videos will soon be available.
