Modifying Fastrack for Lionel PW #260 Bumper | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Have any of you modified a section of Lionel Fastrack to accept the red PW #260 bumper?

I can see where it would take some cutting of the roadbed, and maybe modifying the bumper too to make it work.

I like the look of the #260 bumper and the red jeweled light.

Anybody done it or am I on my own to experiment? I figure the worst I would do is destroy a 10" section of Fastrack.

Yes it can be done; I've done it. You're correct that some removal of the plastic roadbed is required, but not much. No modification of the bumper itself is necessary.

The only other requirement is getting the 260's center rail contact to reach the FasTrack center rail. I did this by putting a Super O track clip on the 260's contact to extend it, but there are probably better ways.

Just another option: I would think it would fit on a transition track (from fastrack to tubular)
