Modifying the Weaver PRR sand car

This Weaver kit is a nicely detailed PRR sand hopper model. Adding weight and changing out the trucks greatly improves the rolling characteristics. The photos show the use of MTH trucks. Even though the bolsters have been modified the car sits a bit too high. Further reduction of the bolster height is needed.
