Gentlemen,
The Monroeville, Pa trains show on Sunday was very worth while, picked up a couple original Lionel
Tin Plate O Guage train cars and got to see the Steelers Train, a very impressive train no doubt about it. I was hoping to see a lot more Tin Plate at the show than there was, however Ace had a restored 229E Passenger Train that he had installed dual roller contacts on all the passenger cars and the train was simply beautiful. To show you how tight money really is in the Pittsburgh area, he only wanted $450.00 for it, and because he would not come down in price, it was there at the end of the show. I may invest in this little beauty next month however.
One of the great things about the show was watching the young girls and boys with their mothers & fathers as they went from table to table, the mothers of these boys on Sunday, were simply fantastic, they knew more about the trains than their husbands did and were teaching their boys about the trains.
I watched as one mother explained to he son about the Big Boy Engine, and that his Great Grandpa
was one of the engineers who drove the real train, another was explaining to her son about the crossing signals and that his Grandpa worked for the Union Switch & Signal and made everyone for the real railroads. For me it was a trip down memory lane, a very nice Sunday indeed.
