Just about finished one 53' section of deconstruction. Took all of the lumber up & flipped it over.

Very efficient. I don't know if you have decided on the details of your new layout, but it looks like you may have decided on the general design insofar as you are sticking to the basic bench work outline. Lots of fun work. Can't wait to see more progress. I need a shot of adrenaline to get some vegetation growing on my layout.

The whole reconstruction sure looks overwhelming but you're motoring right along, Spence.
This might be a bit too late but have you considered painting the new underside white? Does wonders by improving vision when under there fiddling with different colored wires.

Great way to recycle benchwork. With the price of lumber nowadays, it pays to save/reuse everything you can. I even save and reuse drywall screws from my earlier layout building efforts. Keep us updated as work progresses.

Guess this marks the beginning of the reconstruction as you have moved beyond deconstruction!
Making progress.
Looking very good, Spence. Flipping the lumber was a great idea.
Excellent progress, a lot of table top to work with.

53'??? holy crap Spence..my whole house isn't that long!
OK Spence. Every time I look at your pictures the amount of space you have to run trains just grows and grows! That is a lot of great space and I look forward to seeing what you're going to put in it! Terry
