Greetings friends,

Even though I'm seriously running out of display space, I couldn't pass up a Marklin 2002B

for short money on Ebay.  Yes, I know it's missing the little shack on the right corner, and I had

to make some replacement signs. It joins the larger 2012B in my collection, but there is no room

on the layout so I had to give it some space in my "Office/Museum".  It first was produced in 1937 but stayed in the catalog after the war into the 1950s. Oddly enough it was listed as 00, but

I think it looks fine in 0 gauge in the same manner as the 2012B. Lew2002BMarklin 2012B

Looks great, Lew. If you're out of room, you could always do what our friend Marty did: make an elevated platform for it over the tracks.

On The VintageHubby's new Wide Gauge/Standard Gauge Basement Layout that is currently in-progress, we decided to add a upper platform over the front center area. I call it the 'double decker'. Three AF litho stations will be on the upper platform, an Ives 116 station will be at the front of the lower platform. Sorting out some lighting for that area...

If you add lighting under the platform, it produces a really neat effect. I can't take credit for this--I got the idea from Marty Fitzhenry. On my platform, there will be additional lamp posts around the terrace, so there is much work to be done.

So- BC400, what you got under there??. Love the small billboards at the back too, very Tom Snyder layout-ish.

There will be two more original AF litho stations on the upper platform. And lights, and peeps, etc. Awaiting an original Lionel 1835E locomotive and 1835E tender to pull the blue & silver passenger cars.

Carey,

Those are LED strips that were on the underside of one of Marty Fitzhenry's elevated platforms. I was part of the crew that dismantled Marty's layout a little over a year ago. As the platforms were headed for the dumpster, I removed the LEDs, and they have now been repurposed.  So, in a small way, part of Marty's creativity will continue on my layout. I'd love to find more of these, but so far, no luck. I found the billboards last year on ebay.
