In recognition of 110 years of service provided by fan favorite Morristown & Erie Railway, on August 24th, M&E, Norfolk Southern and NJ Transit will be operating the "Lehigh Limited", a circle trip from Hoboken, NJ to Bethlehem, PA utilizing a circle routing consisting of former Lackawanna, Pennsylvania Railroad and Lehigh Valley trackage. Very rare mileage including the Lehigh Line west of Roselle Park and the NS Washington Secondary is included. The train's power will include a unit from each of the participating railroad although I suspect the M&E 18 will be the star of the show. The "Lehigh Limited" offers a variety of accomodations and a catered lunch at Norfolk Southern's intermodal terminal at Bethelehem. Fares are not cheap but such is the price to be paid for riding passenger excursions in today's environment.
