Need help identifying motor for a 30-1579-1, Mountain, 4-8-2 w/ps3.
There are 1257 motors listed in /MTH parts, no references. There are no markings on this motor, looks like a Mabuchi. Motor measures 50mm length, 36mm dia.

Look for fine print on the motor. OR post a picture. Need can size 365 or 385, worm gear length and tooth length. Flywheel size. From that you can cross a suitable replacement. G

Attached are three pictures. I went through Jason's XLS spreadsheet on RF Steamers and found no motor listed for the RK Mountain. As seen on these pictures, no markings whatever. Shaft is 15mm long x 2mm dia.
Problem with the motor is - pulls high current in reverse direction and runs much slower than when in forward. Have to replace.

When did Jason put out a spread sheet? I gave him the one I assembled a while ago. Did not know it was released. Does FW have a set screw?

I have these, they are 50x35 mm. The back end is not quite the same. Might check with MTH if these will work.
MTH Should be able to provide a part number. THe one that they did not have and may never have is the one with just a drive shaft coupler on the shaft and flywheel on back. That was a specific run of RK Mikado's. G
