Well we took down the mountain area which finishes the deconstruction of the scenery portion of the layout. I now have to take up most of the track & ballast, (approx. 300'). Enjoy the before & after photos.

You don't mess around, Spence. Nice job in the final stages of the deconstruction.
Spence,
It shows not much support is needed to make a fine looking mountain. Quite a bit of progress In the deconstruction. Will you be removing all the bench work and starting with a brand new footprint?
Looking good SPENCE! Hope you had a few happy tears. I always do when I deconstructed my prior two layouts. Lots o work went into that. Now looking forward to turning out a new layout.
Spence, you have really taken down the layout fast. I guess when you are on a mission it is full speed ahead. Thanks for the pics of the tear down. Have you visualized a track plan yet..................Paul
Congratulations on reaching the final deconstruction phase. It's makes me tired just looking at the pictures.
What is your vision of what the new layout will be like? What are you wanting to change?

Mark; benchwork is staying.
Art; I have quite a few ideas but nothing definite yet except there will be one level with 120" radius so that I will be able to run anything that's out there.,
Spence, that will save you a lot of work. At this point in my life, if I was going to rebuild I would want to reuse the existing bench work unless i was finding its footprint to just be unworkable.
Spence - That's great. You never have too wide a curves. They sure take up a lot of real estate though. Anxious to see what you come up with. Wish we lived closer, it would be fun to have coffee together and lay out potential ideas on napkins at our favorite coffee place.

Very cool.
Nice. take your time deciding on the track plan. Even after I rebuilt my layout I am not satisfied. The big curves will look great.
Spence,
I enjoy following your progress on your layout reconstruction. How about a before and after track plan?
Spence,
In my case my layout is in constant development. I have performed full Reconstruction on actual layout twice!
Like it, was a good time to solve some issues and keep working!!
keep us posted.
Andre.
Wow. Lots of progress! Thanks for all the pictures. It's been great following the tear down and I'm looking forward to what the next steps will be! Terry
Tearing everything down can be easy (but heart braking) it's getting everything boxed up and stored for the deconstruction that takes the time. Keep us posted on your new lay-out, I am sure you will go through many ideas before the final plans. We will have to bide our time waiting on you. Are you trying to compete with Big Boy with those curves (wish I had the space!).
not wasting any time!
