The first is a Jackson 6700 production tamper. It is use for setting the track geometry, to level, straighten, level or super elevate the rail. Both done after tie replacement or general mainetance. The second machine is a ballast regulator/ broom. It distributes the ballast before and after the tamper. After that the hydraulic broom sweeps the rail nice and clean. It's a Harsco or a Kershaw 26-3.
