Mr. Muffin does a good thing for the hobby again. I, like a lot of you get his emails of new products from Steve. But today he sent an email to make everyone aware of the MTH news that came out yesterday about turning the smoke off on the RS-3's. Again Mr. Muffin goes above and beyond to quickly make us aware of something that needs addressed with our trains. Service and communications after the sell. Thanks, Dave

Hello and Thank you Dave Nichols.
Steve always stands behind the products he sells. I have one of the affected RS-3s that I bought from him, and will try to solve the issue myself. But if I screw it up (possible, given my lack of technical prowess), I'll likely send it back to him to get it done right.

That's him! He's a straight shooter.

The process really isn't that hard to accomplish. Hopefully MTH or one of the dealers will make a video specific to correcting this problem. I think that would go a long way to getting the correct code flashed to these engines instead of shipping them back.
I've actually seen more than a few dealers send this out. Along with the MTH newsletter is good that they are trying to spread the word.
I bought one of the LS&I RS-3s and a video would be great. Have turned the smoke off for now and wait to see if something gets posted.
