I personally have 3 of them running the trains on the layout.  I use 3 older ZW's for aux./accessory power.

The MRC Duals are first class.  No problems.  I run conventionally...Williams, MTH PS1 and PS2, Lionel Legacy and TMCC, Atlas, Weaver, Sunset 3rd Rail, etc..   Nary a problem.  I have a fourth one given to me by a friend getting out of the hobby.  It had a cracked case and stuck voltmeter.  I sent it to MRC and it was returned repaired free of charge (except my outgoing shipping, of course).

We (LHS) 'push' MRC power packs for all gauges just because they stand behind their product 100%.  Their warranty is stated as 5 years.  However, a few years ago a customer brought in an old MRC dual DC power pack, copper-colored case that showed heavy use, paint spatters, scratches, etc.  One rheostat was not working.  We judged the product to be about 20 years old in MRC's product line.  The customer was willing to pay for the repairs.  MRC repaired the product and returned it....no charge!  What can you say?  They exceed expectations.  They're first class....period.

I used the MRC Dualpower 027 for many years and I was very happy with it for the most part. I was able to run 2 trains on 2 separate loops, power all lights and accessories and power the switches all with one transformer. After a few years I had to replace both hand held controllers. The horn button eventually collapsed and the switch between track 1 and track 2 malfunctioned.
The major issue I had was with the Williams sound boards. The Dualpower was incompatible with the Williams electronics and the only sound I was able to get was a sickly sounding horn.
I recently switched to a good old fashioned ZW and everything is great. I still use the MRC Dualpower to power all of the lights. I understand that the MRC transformers work well with DCS.
