I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have 2 track mainline running scale sized locomotives and it has performed without a problem in the past 3 years. It's a top notch transformer.
been running an MRC Dual Power since 2004. Have all MTH PS2 loco's running under DCS. No major issues or concerns.
The Merchant Square Mall Layout has been running 2 the MRC Pure Power Dual AC transformers for Several months now without any issues.
Bought mine used. only problem was that the handle fell off. It was advertised as a craacked handle. Put some Super glue in it and it has been trouble free since.
I have two ZW's and two type V sitting on the shelf. Dual super power is tops.
Been using it for about 18 months

I've had one now for about 6 years or so. Love it. Run all DCS.
I love the Voltage and Amp meters for each handle. I'm learning to really appreciate the Ammeter!
Not only that, but the breakers are F-A-S-T. I front end the TIU (meaning between the MRC and the TIU) with fast blow fuses and the breaker pops faster than the fuses breaking.

Thanks guys for the input. I guess I will replace my OLD ZW with one. Thanks again. Tom
I personally have 3 of them running the trains on the layout. I use 3 older ZW's for aux./accessory power.
The MRC Duals are first class. No problems. I run conventionally...Williams, MTH PS1 and PS2, Lionel Legacy and TMCC, Atlas, Weaver, Sunset 3rd Rail, etc.. Nary a problem. I have a fourth one given to me by a friend getting out of the hobby. It had a cracked case and stuck voltmeter. I sent it to MRC and it was returned repaired free of charge (except my outgoing shipping, of course).
We (LHS) 'push' MRC power packs for all gauges just because they stand behind their product 100%. Their warranty is stated as 5 years. However, a few years ago a customer brought in an old MRC dual DC power pack, copper-colored case that showed heavy use, paint spatters, scratches, etc. One rheostat was not working. We judged the product to be about 20 years old in MRC's product line. The customer was willing to pay for the repairs. MRC repaired the product and returned it....no charge! What can you say? They exceed expectations. They're first class....period.

There has been some pretty strong language used here about how great the MRC
transformer is. I concur with those opinions. I should have said something about
how great the meters are.

I used the MRC Dualpower 027 for many years and I was very happy with it for the most part. I was able to run 2 trains on 2 separate loops, power all lights and accessories and power the switches all with one transformer. After a few years I had to replace both hand held controllers. The horn button eventually collapsed and the switch between track 1 and track 2 malfunctioned.
The major issue I had was with the Williams sound boards. The Dualpower was incompatible with the Williams electronics and the only sound I was able to get was a sickly sounding horn.
I recently switched to a good old fashioned ZW and everything is great. I still use the MRC Dualpower to power all of the lights. I understand that the MRC transformers work well with DCS.
I've been using mine for about 10 years now. No issues....very reliable.

Apparently MRC made two dual power transformers. One had dual walk around throttles. The other had two handles ala ZW. The one I referred to earlier was like the latter.
If a PS2 locomotive was fried, it is unlikely the MRC was at fault.
