So I have a Lionel 100-ton hopper (scale), and it is a really nice piece of rolling stock. Tomorrow I'm making a trip to the train store, and want to get a few more to make a nice grain train. I've seen from past visits, the ones I want to get are MTH Premier.

I know MTH makes great products, and I wouldn't doubt their quality, I just want to know how they compare to Lionel's 100 ton hoppers.

I've read somewhere that MTH's cylindrical hoppers match the actual Canadian prototypes, but I can't yet swear to it--all I recall is that it somehow made me feel better about buying a whole mess of a single roadname (Gov't of Canada) for what amounted to a "show train"

Thanks for the response. I've been eyeing some Alberta Heritage Fund and red CN ones
