John,

Thanks for your kind comments,  the layout has a long way to go.  It is going to be a postwar and prewar - dealer display style layout.   The 165 is one of my favorites too.

One beautiful set.  I have a Lionel torpedo I got back in the 90's and I wood like to get it painted to match my Blue Comet train that I acquired on a hunting trip.  The reason is the locomotive is equipped with sounds of steam, and as one forum member mentioned I would disconnect the sound of steam  and I did.

Any comments on what you would do?

Al

After a hic up or two, my LHS got mine this morning. I am not a serious Lionel guy, but love articulated streamliners and this is a beauty. It's been a few years since I saw an original in person, but it seems to me the blue is off on the new one. Has a bit of gray to it. Is it just my memory or is there a fair amount of difference. I think this gray blue is great so not complaining, just wondering.
