I have the older, Proto-2 version of that locomotive. It's been a good-running, reliable engine for as long as I've had it. It's been on TV once, in a news story on our toy train museum. Detail is good; a streamliner doesn't have as many doodads as an unstreamlined steamer so there isn't as much detail on it as, say, a Mikado. The new version should have the MTH wireless tether; mine has a cable.
I don't have the MTH passenger cars; I run mine with Weaver cars, which are scale length and the correct design for that specific locomotive. The MTH set is actually modeled after the 1948 Milwaukee Road passenger cars, which were placed into service after the Hiawathas were fully dieselized. It's entirely possible that those cars were seen occasionally behind the 4-6-4, as the big steamers were available for backup if the regularly scheduled diesels weren't available, but those cars don't exactly go with the engine. Nonetheless, that set was a great deal from MTH with the set costing only $100 more than just the engine.
Here are a couple of photos.
