Has anyone run this engine on O27 track successfully? I am looking for a newer tinplate steamer to run on my club module.
Thanks,
Bob

If it has a wireless drawbar it's not gonna work. If you get the conventional version it should work.
Do you want to run on o27 profile track or o27 profile track with o27 curves?
I was hoping to use O27 curves.
Thanks,
Bob
I've run mine on 034, but not 027.

Also, are you thinking the P3 version or conventional. Conventional should be no problem. P3, if no one responds, I'll set up a loop and test it.

Hi Steve, nMy modules have O27 on the inside loop. When I first built the modules, Larry and I could not get the O31 to fit correctly inside the O36. Don't know why since everyone else had no issues. I was hopping to get a PS3 to run at our club meets. I think I will take the squares out and try to configure O31 track again. If you get a chance to test it, that would be great too.
Thanks,
Bob

It's been running for 15-20 minutes and the wireless drawbar has not unplugged itself so I think you are good to go.

Thanks Steve!!!

CP BOB,
Sorry I did not see this thread before, the original 262 will run on 027 same with the Repro, however it does have some trouble with the 027 switches, it bumps thru them however, the 027 Lionel Tubular track will accommodate the 262, 259, 249 and the 263E.
If you have the big 810 Crane Car the switches will accommodate the 810 also, at a reasonable speed.
Have fun!

my only concern for Bob, was the wireless drawbar. The loco and tender would do 027 just fine, but I wanted to verify if the drawbar connector would stay put and not unplug itself.

Thanks Dave!

Heavy use will ultimately wear out the wheel flanges on the engine. G
Thanks for the heads up. I am going to rework the module to accommodate O31.
Bob
GGG,
You are absolutely correct excessive running on Lionel 027 Tubular Track will in fact wear the wheels, on all these engines, it's the main reason the tightest curves I run my Tin Plate Engines on now, is the MTH 031 just inside the inner loop of my FasTrack. So far no wear on any of the engine wheels, and I have used this inner Loop of MTH 031 for many years now.
Steve,
I figured you answered the way you did because of the tether, did not mean to steal your thunder buddy. Also got to admit the 259 has a little more trouble than some of the others on the 027 Tubular, especially pulling an entire work train consist of cars.
Steve what really amazed me about both our Tin Plate layouts is that we are both using FasTrack to run our Tin Plate, man it runs smooth as class, even thru the FT CC Switches, old Tin on FasTrack, you got to love it. I got to add your Standard Gauge FT is way cool. Wish I had the room for an outside loop, got to figure out a way!
