I recently picked up some MTH Amtrak passenger cars at an estate sale really cheap, no box....no part number.  Several of the couplers need to be replaced, or at least the underneath piece.  Because I don't have the MTH product number, I can't get the part number.

Not sure if the whole coupler comes as one part, or if I can get just the broken piece replaced?

If anyone has the part number, that would be great.  Never had to order replacement parts from MTH, I assume they must ship to Canada as Lionel does.

thanks

Gary

Those couplers are a known issue. I've replaced a bunch... For the short term, you can just superglue the knuckle shut if you want to buy time, but even the knuckles will eventually crumble and break. Its honestly best to do what Chuck suggests and buy the MTH kit. I want to say its about 8 bucks.

Its been a while since I've done it with the Amfleets but if I remember right you need to take the shell off to get at the screw which releases the truck, so you can get the old coupler off. The car floors are plastic and a bit flexible, so dont pull too hard.
