There always seems to be demand for these, as even on the aftermarket they can fetch decent sums of money. That being said, MTH runs them every few years in one paint scheme or another. By now all the schemes have been done, but they've made a few interesting decisions in numbering over the years. For example, P42s have never been run in standard phase IV with a silver roof, they've only done 800 series P40s. I always found that odd.

It would be nice if they upgrade the tooling soon.... some of the add on details have been upgraded over time (most notably the windshields), but the trucks, etc... are still all cast and its getting a bit noticeable compared to some of their more recent offerings.

Excellent!

I bought my PS/1 Genesis used in 2004.  I have run it several times on the SD3R layout with the Lionel Superliners.  But its been on the repair shelf for several years.  I forgot what is wrong, maybe just the smoke unit or something like that.  (Hopefully I left myself a note somewhere.) Anyway, it's a prime candidate for a TMCC upgrade.  And your conversion has given me more motivation to do it.

Since I wanted operating ditch lights, I used the ERR Cruise Commander M, a little steamer motherboard for the R2LC, and the ERR RailSounds Commander for sound.  It worked out pretty nice, the ditch lights and front and rear markers are powered from the CC-M, the cab light and the front/rear number boards are still using the CV 6V supplies they used to run from, and The LED headlights are connected to the TMCC board for directional lighting.  The smoke unit runs great off the smoke output of the TMCC R2LC, I'm thinking I may have to tone it down a bit, it really pumps out a lot of smoke.  I'd like it to just have a generous hint of smoke, right now it looks like it's on fire.
