MTH Berkshire Steam Engine 30-1128-0 Stuck in Reverse

What kind of transformer are you using?

Z1000 with the controller.  I've tried doing the "unlock the engine" thing on page 25 of the owners manual but that doesn't seem to work.  I've also tried "RESETTING ALL PROTOSOUNDs OPTIONS TO FACTORY DEFAULTS" on page 24.   I'm new at this so I hoping I can figure this out with y'alls help.

A -0 item number only has a basic reverse unit, no protosounds.  There is likely a lockout switch on the bottom of the tender that will lock it in forward or reverse.

you beat me to it Jon!.....I was just getting ready to chime in....many a time I got a railking loco in the mail where the switch must have gotten jarred into lockout in shipping..........

Yeeee Haaaaa!!!!!   That was IT!!!!   Little bitty "on/off" switch on the bottom of the tender.  You guys are GREAT!!!!!  Don't know what I'd have done without your help!!!  And now I now this engine doesn't have "Protosounds" which I don't know exactly what that is anyway.  Thanks again!!!

welcome to world of railroading!........protosounds is a sound system by MTH equipped in some trains that give you realistic train sounds. Everything from choo choo sounds, blow off valves, and all kinds of other cool effects. if you never experienced, look on some threads on this forum, or check out youtube. Lionel's version is called Railsounds.......enjoy your new train...
