I've been waiting for this since March. They keep extending the shipping date. The last one was October 2014. I checked it today & now it says January 2015. This is getting real frustrating but I've always wanted one of these & I'm running MTH only now so I guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

I have seen many posts here and other places and heard talk about the frustrations of waiting a long time for pre-orders.  However, I recently placed my first pre-order with a friendly neighborhood Forum sponsor for an MTH Imperial USRA 0-6-0 switcher.  My other engines have all been purchased used, but I like MTH, and this engine would fill a void on my to be planned layout.  So, I can wait.  However, I realize I may still be waiting a year from now.  Check back in then, and see what my opinion is.

I order also have mostly MTH and pre-order most everything at my LHS. I have come to expect about a year's wait for most everything, give or take a couple of months. Pre-ordered my first Lionel engine from the 2014 v1 catalog and I'm still waiting on it also. Don't know how long they usually take? I have one other Lionel engine, but it was purchase from my LHS's store stock.

They're doing you a favor:  It's giving you & Brian time to reconsider and let this engine retain its dignity by using the paint scheme that the SP and the forces of nature intended it to have:  freight, not Daylight!  (pssst, the non-Daylight versions are already out!)

John, I have learned to really enjoy your comments. They are in good fun and I do enjoy your excellent insight with the SP. Also good news for the sell-out of the non-Daylight Cab Forwards. Bet you didn't expect this.

The longer the wait, the more you appreciate.  I put a pre-order in for the new Premier Big Boy, oil burner.  The model of the one UP is restoring that came from the LA County Fairground, number 4014.  Expected in March of 2015.  I doubt it makes delivery by then. I suspect more like September or October of 2015.
