I recently purchased the MTH DCS Explorer for use on a small layout. The Explorer comes with a small power supply. Does this small power supply have enough "juice" to run multiple engines on one track? Can the DCS Explorer be powered by the MTH Z750 or the Z1000? I plan on running two PS-3 engines on the same track. Your help/guidance is appreciated. Thanks.

Newt,

The DCS Explorer doesn't come with a power supply. Did you purchase an MTH Ready to Run set with a DCS Explorer? If so, the power supply that came with the set is adequate for the set but not for much more.

Can the DCS Explorer be powered by the MTH Z750 or the Z1000?

Yes, it can.

The maximum that the DCS Explorer will handle is a load of 6 amps. Both the Z750 and the Z1000 fall into that range, and will plug right into the DCS Explorer.
