MTH DCS WIFI control system panel wiring scheme

The attached photos show a modular MTH DCS WIFI control system panel wiring scheme that provides for various cable interconnections between the units. All interconnected cables including power connections are placed in a 4 inch wide wireway.  This system places all wiring underneath the various DCS system units in a "trough". This system can also be easily expanded to provide additional AIU units that are also mounted on a separate panel.  All the DCS components are securely fastened to the various panels and are mounted "above" the wireway.  Not shown are additional circuit breaker protection panels. Most control system panels as shown are 12 inches wide by 24 inches in length.

The system uses Passive Mode control so that no connections to the TIU inputs are needed.  The TIU is provided with AUX POWER from a brick as shown.

Should a wifi antenna be vertical, or does it make no difference when used in the MTH network mode?.  I assume that if used on the home system, the antenna should be in the same plane as the home router antenna.

Unless you know the orientation of the antenna in your smart device, it will not matter when using the MTH network mode.  I agree you should match the orientation of the antenna with your home router if that is how you connect your system.

If you use an Android device, there is an app you can get called Wifi Analyzer that can help with signal strength levels.  It will not give you accurate db measurements, just relative measurements.

The WIFI antenna is fully adjustable.  When in WIFI operation the antenna can be moved to vertical position as necessary. I also have the MTH DCS remote controller that is also useable in wireless mode or cable mode.

However the top cover for this panel is removable by design.

OK, however, how does that help get the plugs through the too-small holes? id you attach the cable plugs after passing the wire though the holes?

Good point.  One end of each cable easily slips through the holes as shown. This includes both power cables shown.
