Looking at pages 20-21 of the 2013 Busch-MTH catalogue suggests the following:

Two distinct versions of the locomotive will be made:

  I.  The DB versions, both in green and turkis.  These will have "Three window" cabs, large [ original ] louvers on the ends, and single headlights.

II.  Both OBB versions, the orange [ red in MTH-speak ] and retro-green, will have "two window" cabs, smaller [ K&L ] louvers on the ends, and the headlight/taillight unit.

III.  As far as pantographs, the turkis unit should have the earlier model with the horizontal insulators and a single contact shoe per pan;  the Busch text suggests that a preserved unit will be used for the DB green one, and it appears to be fitted with horizontal insulators but dual contact strips.

.  The  Austrian ones will have to have newer pans with dual contacts, so perhaps all four will have newer pans, which is not unreasonable.

Well, not too unreasonable.

The above scenario suggests that the MTH artwork in their own catalogue [ the airbrushed Piko ] is misleading as far as the green Austrian unit, even though it would be 'legal' -- and actually a version I'd prefer to see instead of an "orange" unit later repainted to green.

If MTH alone were doing this, I would expect a single product in four different paint schemes -- but with Busch involved, it will have to be done right, I think.
