Ps2 9 volt engine. Battery is bad. Pulled it out and you can see where the battery leached acid.
Engine makes no sounds, doesn’t light up, and doesn’t move in conventional mode. Should I assume the boards are bad and just turn it into a dummy?

Put in a new battery and try it. PS2 does not run without a battery.
Do not assume anything before testing and trying.
Actually, PS/2 runs fine without a battery. It will stop on any power interruption, but you can run it.

Not in conventional it doesn't. Which is what the original post stated. In DCS it will not store anything to memory and you will have to readd every time you want to use the engine. G
