Help and advice!I have a MTH Electric EP-3. As this is somewhat a difficult locomotive to put on the track due to the articulating trucks, it was operating Ok but hit a switch, zap sounded and shorted out and shut down itself immediately. I shut down power asap .Now there is a faint smell of burnt wires, could be smoke residual though. I have carefully taken body off and cannot see any broken, melted or damaged parts, not that I would know what to look for.Now it will not start either in DCS or conventional. It just sits and hums. Sometimes the marker lights flash when I try to start it up via the handheld. I cannot access the locomotive via the handheld to reset. Other locomotives seem to work Ok, TIU seems fine. Is there anything folks could suggest that I can do or look for. I have a service request into MTH hoping there can repair. The locomotive was catalogued in 2005 but has not been operated much. Is this unit fried? Appreciate any advice.
