Hi, to whom did MTH sell their HO tooling for locomotives using DCS Proto Sound 3.0 and for freight cars? And are MTH HO locomotives with PS 3.0 available for sale through dealers or eBay? Thanks.

As far as I know the HO line (and S gauge) was bought by Scale Trains. They are not planning on using DCS and PS3 but rather DCC in the locos, as far as I've heard.
Perhaps this new N&W J is from the MTH tooling? They don't indicate. But like all their locos, it is available with DCC and sound.

I had a MTH Mikado for while and sold it to a young fella in our club who has HO. It surprised the heck outta me with the sounds and smoke - close your eyes and it sounded very close to an O gauge model!
Have a few of their plated Santa Fe Warbonnets in both red and yellow. They are little jewels. Also a UP Alco PA that I've run at a club. Performs very well and even smokes. MTH's engines were excellent IMO
