Hi everybody,

Few years ago was a discussion about comparing premier vs. imperial, where you can read about all the technical differences...

https://ogrforum.com/t...and-imperial-engines

Recently I purchased two engine units of MTH Imperial BNSF swoosh SD70ACe, one of them is new powered with DCC and DCS PS3.0 while the other one is 2nd hand dummy. I guess the dummy one has to be re-numbered because both engines have the same road number. They look shorter compared to Premier versions and longer compared to RuggedRails versions, but I don't mind because it is just a hobby to have fun and surely I am not a rivet counter. Some times in life you have to make compromises, so I went for Imperial also due to investment costs. For me is important the overall impression, the nice detailing and the functionality on narrow curves and over tight switches. Enjoy the video...

OK, what is the idea with the Greek letters in the BNSF logo at the lower lfet of the posting?

Thanks for your question.

Any road number you can change from Arabic digits to Roman numbers and any real or fictive roadname on your miniature rolling stock  you can write in Celtic letters, in Cyrillic letters or Hebrew or Egyptian hyroglyphs or even in Klingon language. In that way you create your own parallel universe. I chose to design my signature in pumpkin style with Greek initials. Model railroading is fun....
