Does anyone have the MTH repro of the Ives Short Hood 3245r? If so, how do you like it? Interested in hearing your feedback for both traditional and PS2 versions.
Thanks!

sunrise, I have two with ps2 (light green and gloss black), and the light green also in traditional.
it's one of my favorite engines - i guess i'd say it's a very fun engine. it's just an entirely different look. especially on curves where the front pilot heads off in a different direction before the cab does. I find myself sticking various figures on that big deck of the front pilot, it's just hard to resist.
it's a good strong engine, both versions. I have it pulling my Ives freight (all vintage cars), it does it nicely! i should take some pictures.
hojack - does the MTH version have added chassis weights? If so, any guess as to their weight? Mine does not have any weights, and has difficulty pulling six original, but well lubricated, freight cars.
Thanks for answering...
hojack,
Any pictures would be greatly appreciated. Im thinking about buying the black in traditional and matching it with the light green 240 cars. I really like the MTH repro of the 240 series cars.
Thanks!

no added weights that i am aware of - certainly nothing obvious like in the 408. no problem pulling a full string of Ives freight though. give me a day or two and i'll take a closer look and take some photos.
Here's a couple photos, I'm working on a video.
remember to click on the photos to make them bigger.
Definitely no added weights in this loco.
First attempts at video, so bear with me...
hojack,

hojack,
one more question...is that a traditional motor or PS2? Can you send me an email...you don't have one in your profile and I would like to ask a question or two!
Thanks again!!!!!
