The other day I thought I would put a MTH Lash-Up together.

I am using the MTH DCS system and the engines being used in the Lash-Up where a new MTH Pennsy Imperial M1 (lead engine) the (end engine) was a MTH Pennsy Premier L1.

Both of these engines are running forward.

Both of these engines when they are running separate (not in a Lash-Up) have a Grade Crossing Whistle feature in the soft keys SXS and different Idle sounds.

The Pennsy M1 Grade Crossing Whistle really has a nice sound with a bit of echo.

Once these two engines are put together in a Lash-Up the Grade Crossing Whistle Feature is no longer in the soft keys along with the Idle sounds.

I went through the menu of the soft keys while in a lash up these features are not listed.

I realize that the lead engine the M1 in this Lash-Up will be the only whistle that will sound whether the Lash-Up is either forward or reverse.

But I would think the Grade Crossing Whistle for the M1 or any lead engine would still show up in the soft keys.

Everything works fine lights smoke sound direction during the Lash-Up.

If the Lash-Up is stopped and you go into the engine screen and bring both engines from the Inactive Engine Screen to the Active Engine Screen all the Grade Crossing Whistle feature and Idle Sounds for both engines show up in the soft keys.

Is this normal, or am I missing something here.

It's not the end of the world the engines look and sound great running together , just thought I would ask.

Thanks in advance!!

Clem,

please tell me I'm wrong

DCS is supposed to allow you to set the various lighting and sound levels just once and then remember them each time you start up the lashup. Unfortunately, that only works sometimes.

However, the release that's in beta test does do that. You'll be able to build a lashup once, set its various lights and sounds for each member, run it, shut it down, run the members, then start up the lashup, and all your settings will be the way that you left them.

The beta that I'm running now has this capability and it works with one minor glitch.

That's why it's still in beta test.
