My daughter got me a MTH Operating Crossing Gate Signal #30-11012 for Christmas from Aarons City Trains here in Akron. I do not use Fast Track or Real Trax but am a conventional tubular track guy. I would like know if I can use the MTH Crossing Gates with a Lionel 153 IR infrared sensor. If so, can someone help me on the simplest connection between the two,
Since Aarons is going out of business, returns are not an option. Any help is greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas everybody.

Yes you can use the lionel 153IR. The manual should tell you how to hook it up its pretty easy.
the instructions for the Crossing Gates say:
1. Black wire to outside rail - which slot is that on the IR?
2. Red wire to center rail - same question.
3. White wire to NC - got that one.
4, Yellow wire to NO - get that one to.
so, what to do with Black and Red?

You hook the red to to acc power and black to acc ground also you should have blue wire hooks to acc ground as well then make sure your switch is flipped from lionel IR to acc power then hook up wires to A&U terminal then hook up to power to transformer
