Ok,  a F40ph P/S 2, Came to us from the forum,  all is good. I thought, placed on track and no response with the remote.  My ? was why no activity, on the Dcs system, as small lights would come on and nothing after that.  Now, I ran engine conventional, all sounds, smokes, like a barbeque hickory wood smoker, horn shakes the room, pulls 16 hoppers around my 8 X 8. Did this about 3 months.   This past week, I'm thinking, Maybe............. well I place on my fixed 2 tiu track, and get out the remote.  I wonder, power track, and Voila,

Terry,

Try switching the transformers and see what happens, got to admit this is a new one

on me, the power supply really should make no differences as long as the transformer is big enough to get the job done, and working correctly. Also are you sure you are wired up absolutely correctly?

Maybe Barry  will see the thread and can give you some further advise!

Terry,

First, since Fixed #2 works fine, we can rule out the TIU not getting power as an issue. For the same reason, the TIU model (Rev.) is also not an issue and neither is the TIU's DCS ID#.

First,do a Factory Reset ion the engine. That will also delete it then from the remote and add it back again on Fixed #1.

If it won't ad to Fixed #1, I have a couple of questions:

  • Once you added the engine to the remote on Fixed #2, were you able to start it up on Fixed #1?
  • Do other PS2 or PS3 engines operate on Fixed #1? If so, do a track signal test on both channels using the same engine for both tests. The engine should be stationary at the spot where you added, or attempted to add, the F40PH. Note if there are any differences in the signal strength.
